Will importing overwrite my existing products?
No. Cargo matches by product handle and skips items that already exist, so a re-import never creates duplicates. Every run shows a dry-run preview first, and bulk edits can be undone.
What file formats can I import?
CSV and Excel (.xlsx). Cargo reads your headers and maps them to Shopify fields automatically; you can adjust any mapping before importing.
Does the AI invent product information?
No. The optional AI writes descriptions and SEO only from the facts you provide (title, type, attributes). It's off by default and never overwrites copy you already wrote.
Is my data safe?
Cargo runs inside your Shopify admin and only accesses the products and inventory needed for the import or edit you requested. See the privacy policy for details.
How large a catalogue can it handle?
Small imports run instantly; large catalogues run as a background bulk job, so they don't time out.
